TEHRAN -- Iranian director Masud Delkhah said on Friday he will stage William Shakespeare's play “Julius Caesar” on Nov. 6 onward at Tehran’s Molavi Hall.

The play’s dramaturgy has been done by Mohammadreza Khaki who adopted the deconstructive approach toward the earliest of Shakespeare's three Roman history plays, Delkhah added.

He noted that like Shakespeare's two other stories “Antony and Cleopatra” and “Coriolanus”, “Julius Caesar” is a dramatization of actual events. “Shakespeare always dealt with human traits which are alterable in different situations.”

“Julius Caesar” tells the story of an eponymous highly successful but ambitious political leader of Rome whose goal is to become an unassailable dictator.

Caesar is warned that he must "beware the Ides of March”. The prediction comes true and Caesar is assassinated.

The play will be performed by Kazem Baluchi, Iman Afsharian, Hamidreza Hedayati, Reihaneh Salamat, Gilda Hamidi, and Ali Bigham.
